Laura Edelbacher is a freelance illustrator and designer currently based in Vienna.
After completing a degree in graphic design in Vienna, she studied illustration at ÉNSAD Paris and HAW Hamburg, where she graduated with an MA. From 2015 to 2019 Laura worked on a weekly infographic column for ZEITmagazin (Die ZEIT) Germany. She has also been giving talks on infographics at University Aachen.
Laura has had her illustrations featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, at Google, and DKNY, as well as at exhibitions such as at the Museum of Art and Design Hamburg. She has additionally been working in different fields, such as editorial illustration, music artwork and videos, branding and packaging design. Her work is best described as distorted-realist, kitschy, and informed by a love for 60s design, 70s fashion, and 80s synth pop.
